Since a lot of the shows that I follow, I follow exclusively on DVD, I thought a TV edition of this thread seemed appropriate.
TORCHWOOD - CHILDREN OF EARTH. Disc 2. Kind of disappointing after the build-up from the first disc. Felt like it dragged on.

I've been watching TWO AND A HALF MEN. I am on Season 4, Disc 2. At times this is a paint by numbers sitcom and there are times when it is extremely funny. Jon Cryer makes this a good show even when the material is weak.

We're getting ready to start DESPARATE HOUSEWIVES Season 2 Disc 5. We just finished the 4th disc last night. I actually really enjoying the show.

Watched the "Hard Rock" episode of the Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. a couple weeks ago. Aaron Viva cracks me up every time.

ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT; I watched seasons one and two as a marathon over a 2 day period. Just as hilarious each time I watch it.

Not quite a disc--since it comes from Netflix free streaming--but last night I watched a four-ep "Doctor Who" story w/Tom Baker called "City of Death." Very cool, actually, and rather less campy than many of the Baker shows I remembered. You've got a fairly cool looking alien who goes back to the beginning of time to change human history in a scene that reminded me quite a bit of the Picard/Q exchange in "Next Gen's" last ep. And best of all, there's even a cameo by none other than John Cleese! Grade: A-.

COUPLING, SEASON ONE - Suggested in the British TV thread. I remember watching it on BBC America back in the day. Very funny. Laughed out loud a lot. Going into the second series next.

LAND OF THE LOST -- just finished Season 3. Seasons 1 and 2 were MUCH better stories than I remembered, with some great writers (including Larry Niven!). Found it interesting that they actually got out of the Land of the Lost at the end of Season 1 . . . then Season 2 came along and it was like the final episode of Season 1 had never occurred. Not a problem conceptually -- those Season 2 episodes could have been "in-between" days that weren't documented in Season 1, then Season 3 came along and the father ("Rick Marshall") was replaced by their uncle. Interesting series overall.

I was re-watching the first season of "The Big Bang Theory", the episodes still crack me up, especially the Halloween party episode - Leonard, "That's right, you saw what you saw. That's how we roll in the Shire."

The Spectacular Spider-Man: The Complete First Season
Cute show, with a lot of good humour and a very diverse supporting cast that never feels overbearing or short-shifted. I enjoy the action and the way it uses subplots is quite enjoyable.
I think it just might be the best Spider-Man cartoon ever, though I'll withhold that judgement until the complete second season comes out hopefully before Christmas.

What I like about the show is its a schlocky sitcom thats not ashamed to be a schlocky sitcom. Its why I can watch it when I have far less tolerance for shows like Cougar Town or Modern Family.

FREAKS AND GEEKS - THE COMPLETE SERIES, Disc 1
This disc contains the first 3 episodes. After 3, not too impressed. Most of the characters are annoying in some way. Not going to give up on it though.
