Wow, I did not realize that the Eagle Awards were still around ( I cast my votes). I remember when the Uncanny X-Men in the very early 1980's had on the cover..."winner of 5 Eagle awards" with the award emblem.  I did not know what it meant at the time; I don't think anyone really knew.  It sure looked like it was an important award and it seemed that the Uncanny X-Men was the only Marvel comic book (or any comic for that matter) at the time that had won the Eagle Awards.  Myself and my friends thought that 3 of those five awards was due to Claremont, Byrne and Austin....the other two, no idea.
The early 1980's on those Uncanny X-Men was the first and last time I heard anything about the Eagle Awards.

Does anybody know who I can get in touch with to have my name removed from consideration? I don't wish to seem ungrateful, but at this stage of my career I'm not competing with anyone but myself.

There's a "Contact Us" link on the site; perhaps send them a message, with a link back to this thread for confirmation that it really is you requesting to be removed?

If a bunch of us vote for JB I'm sure he'll be disqualified anyway for "ballot stuffing"....

I think it is beyond cool that you were nominated , but I completely get the non competing thing, that is the part about being in art I love.

Peter David is up for the Roll of Honour?!?

Just on a whim, I went out to their web site and looked at the past Roll of Honour winners (in order of selection): Stan Lee, Steve Englehart, Jack Kirby, Roy Thomas, Will Eisner, Alan Moore, Frank Miller, Pat Mills, 2000 AD (Title), Gil Kane, Joe Quesada, Neil Gaiman, Grant Morrison and Warren Ellis.

Does anyone else see, perhaps, a few missing names that should be considered long before we get to Peter David?

Nothing against Mr. David. In fact, I'm actually hoping he would agree.

Asked them to remove my name, and received confirmation that they have done so.

Just checked the ballot and your name is off.

Anyway, you don't need a vote to know you're tops in our hearts, boss!
