Brian: It's my understanding that Pym took the Wasp name after Janet died in one of the recent events. I don't know if he's still using it. ----------- OMG! ANOTHER COMIC BOOK DEATH??? ...sorry... Anyone have a pic of the "new" Wasp? Everything I imagine looks like a cross-dressing joke.

2 questions...
1. Just wondering if you have a costume in mind for Kitty when she graduated?
2. I was looking at all of the costumes that came after the school uniform... wondering if you thought any of them were in the right direction for your version of Kitty...?

Perfect answer, JB. Not many people in the history* of the industry get it quite like you do. It's a big reason why I'm here (at the forum I mean, not living on planet earth).
*at least the recent history....like the last 30-35 years I guess.

One of the oddest things to emerge in the past thirty years or so is the number of "professionals" who look upon the conventions of the form, and decide to "fix" them. This is not altogether surprising, I suppose, given that so many of them are drawn from a pool of fans who seem utterly incapable of understanding those conventions, even when they are the cornerstones of this art form those fans supposedly love so much. I was surprised to encounter so many who asked "Why don't the characters age?". To me, even as a kid, the answer seemed obvious: because they don't!

Flipping through a book called "Comics Creators On X-Men" (published in 2006 - written by Tom DeFalco) and came across this... The next time you did an X-related thing was in Wolverine #17-24 with writer Archie Goodwin. If Wolverine was your favorite character, why didn't you ever pitch a Wolverine series? JB: I did. I had pitched a Wolverine series, but it never went anywhere. Then Chris went off and did his, which was very different from what I had in mind. ----- JB, May I ask what your series was going to be about? What characters it was going to involve?
