Fantastic Piece of art! JB, was this inked with markers or regular ink? Also, how long did it take to finish?

Would it be possible for Marvel to offer this as a poster? This is phenomenal. I would love to see this colored.

That is a damn fine piece of work, JB. Maybe if any of the powers that be at Marvel were to see this they might see that you're serious.
Had a little game with myself to see if I could name everyone. I couldn't. Time to pull out the 'Essentials' again.
One question tho, is Rachel Summers in there? (if she's not meant to be then just ignore the question.)
Thanks.

I wondered if that was Nightcrawler's first Bamf! from between the hands of The Sentinel, or a different character I didn't recognise... the smoke & silhouette didn't make it clear it was Kurt, and he is teleporting from another place also, though that's not unheard of... but that was my first guess at the Mystery Guest before I spotted the lurker behind Wolverine.

"I tried to balance the weights of characters, in terms of size and spotted blacks, but I just know George would have done it better. AND he'd have made it seem effortless!Grrrrrrr. . . . . ." ** While that may be true JB, with all due respect to George, I think Nathan would have been waiting much MUCH longer for it...

Holey Moley! That's absolutely mind blowing JB! Truly it is the X-Men as they were always meant to be . . .except for the fact that the heroes are smiling ;) . I was trying to figure out who was missing from the team, and it occurred to me that Thunderbird (no biggie IMO) and Iceman (more of a biggie) never appeared in your run. Still takes me back, though . . .

Great work! I have to say that you've improved on every single character from your original run. I particularly think that your Colossus has improved leaps and bounds. That's saying a lot because I always thought yours was the definitive take. Isn't cool how JB is able to bring out Wolverine's attitude, perfectly, with simply body language? You might not have created the character, but you certainly gave him a soul.

Best thing about this piece is Arcade trying to lure Snowbird into a game of skeet-shooting, courtesy of Miss Locke! And I think this piece backs up what I said in another thread recently about JB's 70's/80's X-Men work just not having the sense of whimsy and grandeur that Cockrum had. It's clearly here, however!!

Anyway, I'd like it if Pyro was both Gay AND British if possible. They aren't mutually exclusive any more than they are synonymous.
I thought he was Australian...

WOW. Not just the best commission I have ever seen but in my opinion, the best comic art I have seen in 20 years.! Maybe longer! Maybe 40 years, going back the Neal Adams work on X-Men. Nathan, you must be in heaven!

Beyond awesome! Perfect compliment to the classic FF poster. I'm imagining companion pieces featuring Spider-Man and his supporting cast/villains, Batman & friends/foes, Superman and his family of characters...

Wow. What can you say about a piece like this? Incredible. Quoestion: who's the Kirby Krackle guy in the back right? I recognize everyone but him.
