Speaking of the the left side... who's the giant character in the background? I thought I knew every character that appeared during your run, but I can't remember this one.

••

Modt, Second Guardian of the M'Kran Crystal, counterpart to Jahf (lower right corner), both from my first issue. Here's his fist, by Dave, on the cover. . .

WOW!!

Stick me in a brine and call me a pickle....What a great commission!  As soon as I opened it I knew it was Mr. Greno's.  What an inspired choice.  Great, great fun.  Man.  Great job JB.  Again, the commissions really are getting better with each one.  Thanks.

To paraphrase Yosemite Sam, "I hate you Greno."

WOW!

MOTHER OF GOD!

This is wonderful! My new favorite commission!

The "standing around" pose adds a sense of nostalgia -- you quite a few poses like that back in the day that I stared at endlessly.  Great choice Nathan!!

But matching that old approach with your current drawing chops fulfills that part of me that has always wished you'd be able to do more of your X-Men. This is like getting several new X-Men comics in one drawing!!

Ah, of such things are dreams made! But perhaps you recall what happened a while back, when some harmless speculation on this board, about me doing X-MEN EVERMORE in tandem with Chris' X-MEN FOREVER got a few overeager posters emailing Marvel about such a thing, and the Powers That Be over there climbing onto their very highest horses and insisting I must CALL and PROVE I am "serious".

Oh, for the days when "Yeah, that would be fun..." was all it took!

Slackjawed and drooling like a chimp - simply the BEST!

Geez this one had to be over $10 grand - look at the amazing detail.  This is the caliber of art St. Peter hands you at the golden gates!!!

JB I truly think you are entering a new "classic" era!  This along with those last two Spidey villians (Vulture...) commissions you are on a roll.

"and not knowing the character was meant to be Gay, Chris wrote him as BRITISH."

****

I believe it was Norm MacDonald, when doing a story several years ago on SNL about Gays not being allowed to serve openly in the British Army, observerved, "One problem, though: how exactly do you tell if a British guy is Gay?"

Greg: Y'know, it occurs to me that this is a perfect compliment to the old FF piece JB did with all of the Lee/Kirby characters.

Intentional, Nathan?

---------

That's what JB wrote in his first post! :)

When I was a kid, I used to look at that FF poster for hours... I wanted something just like it, but something... different!

Jeremiah: Nathan, you are one lucky man!  As an X-Men fan, I am quite envious!  Is the Fantastic Four one yours as well?

-------

I don't own the FF piece.
