Well, JB  literally my grail piece would be a Joe Kubert Captain America commission.

Makes me think to try again with another book to see if he is more open to doing Captain America now.  Of course, I don't want to use your piece as an example either.  No name dropping or trying to get him to feel bad or any of that.  Maybe I won't try.  =P

Kubert is great!!!    I feel lucky to have eaten a burger in the same restaurant as he did.

This piece really rocks.  I have a Hawkman from his Tex book that he drew in the inside cover.  Never thought to ask for a separate sheet.  Good idea.  Wow.  Totally awe inspiring! Amazing.  Thanks for sharing JB.

When Carey ordered my Kubert book awhile back, the guy on the phone who took the order (not Joe K.) asked her if I was the Clint Ludwick from the JBF. She said "yes" and he said he loved my JB commissions and told Carey that "someone" had ordered JB a Kubert book as a surprise. I guess this was it! Turned out great JB..now you know how we feel when we get a JB commission!

Too freakin' cool for words...

It's almost like a "road not taken" piece...makes you wonder what would have happened if Kubert had become a Marvel guy instead of a DC guy!

And an early happy birthday to you, Chief!

It is so neat to hear you talk about that feeling you get thinking back on the 10 year old you. In a very SMALL way I can try to compare that to how I feel when you do a commission for ME or respond to ME in a thread, that 10 year old kid in me just smiles.

Very nice Birthday gift.
