Fun one.  His costume is goofy, but the face is scary.  I like the face, seems vacant and robotic, like if you were trying to reason with him you couldn't.  Almost like if you were the victim, you could see the seconds ticking down on your life if you didn't co-operate.  Kind of scary if you were in a hold up situation.

I remember a Clock King, but not where I saw him.  Was this an old Green Arrow villain?  Batman?

Clock King was a Green Arrow villain.

Robin fought a villain called The Clock -- a story reprinted in the Robin DC Archive Volume 1 -- but I don't think there was any connection between the two characters.

What I love about that picture is the sense of movement. It's like we've walked up behind Clock King and startled him.

Awesome rendition of Clock King.  A neat character to pick for a commission as well.  I love the hands on the face set where they are since it gives the sense of eyes being there.

Great job, JB!  Congratulations to the commissioner.

That is a cool Clock King! I'm really enjoying these obscure character commissions.

I always thought the 1.50 position was to show a subliminal smile, thus making you happy to purchase!

Awesome JB!.
I think a lot of the reason people don't know this version of the character is the fact that most people today think of the look from the Timm-verse. There he was just a weird looking guy in a suit.

The hands on his face clock's clock face make it look like he's scowling at the interruption!

Awesome (time) piece!

With a costume like this the pose makes the character work. He's wiry and sneaky looking. I wonder what a 50s comic drawn by Byrne would be like.
