I love the inking on this especially the backgrounds.

••

There are no inks on the backgrounds, Jason! Thems is pure nekkid pencils.

===================

Well that is even more intriguing.  I love it!

I figured it was just a different style there.  See that is why I pay to have artwork done for me!  =)

Now let us await the day that Christos decides to part with this piece, and within about five minutes we see it posted somewhere with the inks "finished".

Or there could be complaints that you are selling "unfinished" commissions!  So many possibilities here!

JB (in part): "Plus -- I wonder how you can tell which pages were done on the subway? And which by me, which by Duffy?"

I can't...and that's the point - the art on the whole story was...well, let's be kind and just call it sub-par.  I'm not criticizing you guys, considering the conditions under which you produced the work.  It's part of a learning process -- and you've certainly learned a heck of a lot from it, JB!

Didn't mean to piss you off, chief; please, enjoy the rest of the day!  Sorry, and please don't hesitate to continue to share behind-the-scenes stuff on my account.  I promise to behave better from now on.

This is a really nice commission. I love the execution of this. I might have to get me one of these new fancy toned commissions. Now who should I get? Decisions, decisions.

This could have been an illustration inside one of the men's mags of the 1960s, like "Stag." Very evocative of another era. Nice pull.

I hadn't said it before, but I really enjoy the textured look of this commission. It's almost like looking at a black & white photo of an action sequence.

I agree Paul, it's going to be a tough decision. Ideas are percolating in my mind as well.

JB,

This is STUNNING.  Truly.  I am not usually a fan of commissions that use pencil shading, duo-tone or anything but the usual stark black inks on white paper, but as always your work changes minds.

Another thing, you are the only artist I know of that can sometimes make his work look like it was inked by somebody else... have you ever looked at a commission or comic book and felt that way?

Marc

I'd be thrilled to own this one. Very well done, JB, and congrats to Christos!

like it a lot

Sure. I actually prefer it when that happens!
