BTW - there are now three smallish pieces left on the List, so if you are contemplating a commission and would like to get it before Xmas this year, now is a good time to contact Jim Warden!

This is a fun one. JB, do you have a specific model in mind when you draw the Riddler, or do you just start from scratch each time? How do you see his build in comparison to Batman? Is he thinner? Shorter? I'm curious because I've always thought the Riddler's costume was a strong visual, but it seems like there have been different guys wearing it over the years. Lately, though, it seems like many artists have at least agreed that he has a slight receding hairline, including yourself.

Beautiful piece.  Reminds me of the 3-D book.  Love it, and the owner is very lucky.  Thanks for sharing.

Love the reflection of Batman in Penguin's hat and monocle, great touches. This is such a fun piece. This just makes me want to go re read some of my Batman comics.

I say yes since there's a shadow of him, and there's absolutely no mistaking who it is!

And that is an awesome piece.  I love everything Bat-related that you draw, JB.

Very cool!  I love the expressions.  It is always nice to see some Batman foes in a commission.  Great work, JB!

My instant reaction to this was that it reminded me of JB's DC work in the mid-1980s.  Wonderful.

Wow!  Another home run after another!  Great job JB!

The whole thing is marvelous and I agree this would make an incredible cover, but I must point out how magnificently marvelous Catwoman is in this.  I love it love it love it!

It occurs to me there is a small but important lesson to be learned in this piece. I have ranted before about how characters seem hardly ever to be created, any more, so that their names actually TELL you who they are, even if they are not directly applicable to their powers. (I usually site characters like Medusa and Quicksilver as prime examples of getting this right.)

In the case of this piece, you could show it to a civilian, someone with absolutely no awareness of these characters in any way, shape or form, and ask "Which one is the Penguin?" and be almost certain they would know.

Compare that to this:

Imagining yourselves never, ever to have heard of these characters (you lucky devils!) which one is "Shatterstar"? Even by a process of elimination!

Love it. Something about the inks in this piece and the Modok piece is a bit different and I love it.

Awesome as always
