Ok, gang, here it is: The final product of the JOHN BYRNE FANTASTIC FOUR ART CHALLENGE!
I am posting this here to have a clean thread to present all the pages in the proper order and all are sized the same. If the moderators or JB feel that the thread should be placed in the Challenge thread above, I apologize. I am going to post the pics five to a post to make it load easier, hopefully.
Thanks again to JB for allowing the whole thing to begin with!
I have finished the final steps of lettering the last remaining pages. F. Ron Miller lettered most of the book, and if he wants to re-letter the pages I've done, than that's fine with me. I hope that Mike O'Brien won't mind, but on page 16, I added some dialogue because it probably wouldn't have been clear to new readers that Johnny Storm was using his old flame duplicate trick against Crystal. Also, for consistency, I also recolored Reed's eyes (which are normally colored brown most of the time).
The imaginary GIANT-SIZE FANTASTIC FOUR #1
Based on a story by John Byrne from his fan days in 1973, the pencils of which were reproduced in a fanzine in the 1980s.
Story and pencils: JOHN BYRNE
Script: Mike O'Brien
Inks, and color: F.Ron Miller, Matt Hawes, Aaron Leach, James Pipik, Darren Taylor, James Stewart, James C. Taylor, Bill Dowling, Stephen Bertrand, Bill Wiist
Lettering: F. Ron Miller and Matt Hawes
Fantastic Four and High Evolutionary and all characters are © 2004 Marvel Comics Group. These pages are considered fanfic and are not for resale.

I hate to be a nitpicker, but the cover should say "the fate of two
worlds HANGS in the balance!!" or "the FATES of two worlds hang in the
balance!!"

Joe, are you using Netscape? I am posting my pics from an AOL web space, but that's how I always post my pics, and as far as I know, that usually shows up for everyone. The files are all j-pegs. If you are on dial-up, it may take some time for all the graphics to load, or they may "time-out." In that event you may have to keep refreshing the page to load all the images.

I agree - if it can be changed, change it!
Matt, I don't mind the additonal dialogue!
Finally, I based the script on a paragraph summary that JB gave - it's found on the other thread for this contest. It was a small summary of what the story was, but it did include the last line of the story - "he's the only guy to lose the same girl on two different worlds" or something close to that.
I also REALLY had to hit the internet and raggedy old copies of the OHOTMU - as I never ever ever read a High Evolutionary story in my life. Hope I got the details right!
Best,
Mike

Fun stuff, guys...give yourselves a pat on the back
JB - fun to see the early germinations of ideas that were better applied in later stories (Frankie Raye, Mark IV, etc.). I'm not sure how to phrase this, but how much of those early ideas did you purposely file away and reuse and how much of it is an unconscious reapplication?

It's a typo. :-)
You get a No-Prize!
And so does Eric, if it turns out my grammar was wrong on the cover. Even if it isn't, you still can have one!
Did F-Ron return from holiday, yet? We need his spiffy font if we are to re-title the story. He could retype it, and post it here, and I'll swap the graphic for the one I currently have in place.

Congrats all around!
May I suggest this oeuvre be included in the webcomics section?

eh, Marc - the Mark IV was my idea. Notice, on the same page, it also says: "...trying to find the next men in the evolutionary line" I tossed in a few sly references to JB's later career here and there.
