The 1966 batmobile did behave rather unsatisfyingly like this starting/stopping outside of Gordon's office. Why did it? What is it called? I have gotten a similar effect on cars with "D" or "Drive" mode and you have to stop at red light but not that much.

No offense to the comic book creators, but the Catmobiles I like the more are those made for tv. Batman TAS and B&B featured wonderful Batmobiles.

Once upon a time it used to be important to get even the equipment "on-model", and the artists used to try to make only one version of Batman, too.
