With the girls wearing their 'Fistful of Paintball' costumes, the playing card names which flashed up as each study group member was introduced in that episode came to mind. I do like Megan Lara's work though. The Troy & Abed/ Calvin & Hobbes t shirt I posted upthread is one of her designs

Was the Ken Burns take the season finale for Community? It would seem they're leaving a number of plot threads unresolved at this point, e.g. Abed's Darkest Timeline counterpart and the plans of the (Darkest Timeline?) Air Conditioner Repairguy. While I enjoyed the episode, the documentary storytelling method didn't carry a lot of momentum. The War didn't seem to occur and then resolve itself so much as it rolled to a stop somewhere behind us and we got to hear about it later. I was expected a good deal more fallout from what was happening between Troy and Abed.

Thanks, Craig! A friend had said something to the contrary, so thanks for dispelling that fear.

Yeah when I first heard about the two part blanket fort war I assumed it would be the finale, like last season's paintball. It's definitely got 8 more episodes left though. Hopefully they won't be the last 8 episodes ever!

Might be the last 8 for Chevy Chase, though, if his conflict with Dan Harmon isn't resolved.

Yeah I hope they manage to get that resolved. I think it would be a shame to lose any of the 7 if it gets renewed for a fourth season.

There was something... off about tonight's episode. Not sure what. A disconnect in the characters somehow. Like the show was a parade of their most superficial traits. Felt like it was written by someone who didn't know them well. Didn't check the credits, so don't know who actually wrote it. Still, almost three seasons, and this is as close as I get to being disappointed? Can't complain!

Dan Harmon wrote the episode. I liked it but agree it was a bit off. Had a few good moments though. Dean Pelton was funny and the text moment between Britta and Troy was nice, especially since they haven't really done anything with that in a while.

This was one episode where I thought I detected the writing heading toward a point rather than keeping character primary. It all seemed to be building toward Jeff's insight about Blade.
But I loved the "looking at each other" beats in the resolution and the Pierce/Chang stuff.

I'm only 2/3 through the episode (lunch-time viewing) but the characters seemed to be playing caricatures of themselves. Annie and Abed didn't seem right.

Annie watching Jeff change his shirt was funny. reminded me of her looking through her fingers at his junk when he was playing pool naked in 'Phyical Education'

Annie's cleavage should get an Emmy nomination for best supporting actress. It was impossible to watch anything else in the episode.

No loss as far as I am concerned. I think he was signed to have a big name on the show. His character hasn't served any real purpose this season. Besides a few episodes I really don't care for Pierce.

Pierce is the impetus for many a hilarious conflict on COMMUNITY. He may not be a character I want to see featured regularly, but within the framework of an ensemble cast I think he works particularly well.

The most "meta" episode yet, last night!I wonder what it's like to be actually in the same room with Alison Brie. Those eyes! There must be a distinct and constant danger of literally falling into them!

Good episode. Think it'll take me a few watches to get all the subtleties. I can't wait for the eventual Season 3 dvd set. I'd love to hear commentaries for many of the episodes so far including this one.

Loved the latest episode. Fantastically funny and, once again, full of heart without feeling like "a very special episode". It was "meta" in spades!

I didn't get the title of the episode (Basic Lupine Urology) until the shout out to Dick Wolf at the end.
