JB,

Jim Warden is selling this bad-ass CAPTAIN ACTIONpiece you drew. At first, I thought it was a commission I had somehow missed, but he has mentioned it was a cover. Can you recall what project was this for? Do you know if it has been published?

I think the shadows look terrific!

It was for an issue of the CAPTAIN ACTION comic that came out a year or so back. I did this one as a favor to Paul Kupperberg, who wrote the issue.

Definitely had my Wally Wood hat on for this one!!

Very nice! I see yet another Perez vibe in these inks.

Flavio -

Where is this cover for sale? Don't see it on Jim's site nor in his eBay auctions.

My brother had this action figure when we were kids. Came with an optional Batman costume you could dress him in. Many hours of him fighting with my GI Joe figures; sometimes they would fight against each other, but it always turned to be a misunderstanding, then they would go fight their common enemy, who was usually Callisto from my Major Matt Mason set.

Tony- Captain Action was pre-Mego.

Ideal made that bad boy from 1966-1968. One of the only toys that ever included DC and Marvel, as well as King Features characters. The newest Captain Action comes out later this year, and will have Marvel costumes (Spiderman, Captain America, Iron man & Thor).

Woo Hoo!

Being a Byrne completist, I recall this being posted a year ago and kind of keeping an eye out for Captain Action comics, and like... no store anywhere in my area even knows about the series.

I've tried looking it up online, but can't find it there, either. On my trip to So Cal last week, I was in a shop that had a bunch of Cap Action comics, each with multiple covers by pretty decent artists, but no JB.

I was kind of hoping it hadn't come out yet, but I'm sad to hear that in fact, I just missed it. It's my new holy grail of JB books...

Captain Cation was the coolest. And his costumes fit GI Joe.

Looks like I will be buying my first ever Captain Action comic. Heck, I'm pretty sure this is the first Moonstone comic I've ever purchased. I'm glad I didn't miss this.

OHH! So it HADN'T come out! I thought it came and went and I never found it.

Whew! Thought for a second that there was a grim gap in my Byrne collection!
