If I may ask JB, what method do you use when drawing the fishnets? Are they straight to inks?•• Yes, and for larger pieces like this I usually employ a French curve.

Wonderful, I love Natasha's first costume. I believe it was designed by Don Heck. I dont know if it appeared first in Tales of Suspesne or the Avengers. How about an all-out fish-net commission? You could have the original Black Widow, Black Canary and Zatanna all prancing about -- maybe doing a can-can?

Thanks for the answer, JB. My drawing hand suffered a "phantom ache" (if that makes any sense) and began to tremble as I contemplated those lines!

She's beautiful!!!!!
This commission has such fluid movement. My drawing teacher would give you an A++++ because he would always get on me for forgetting to compose my work, to draw the viewers eye across the page, he said anything else is a waste of paper. On this commission I started at her hand and rope on the top left, travel down her arm across her body where it picks up her knee, then my eyes travel down her legs. You sir have shown how to use the whole sheet of the paper.
This seems like a simple idea, but from all my years in drawing classes, it amazes me of how many people draw on small portions of a large piece of paper.

What a dynamic pose!
Love the way JB works to fill the page.
The fishnets are nice too.

I was trying to place the character, too, until I read John's reply explaining that it was the original costume for the Black Widow. I had forgotten all about the fishnets and cape. She started out with a very... "Pulp 40s" feel to her, didn't she? I wonder how John worked all that in? It must've been that SX nib on his PITT marker selection, for certain, but what was the tool of choice before the PITT markers came along?
