Another stellar piece, as usual. For some reason, I really like the link that's made by the five characters in the foreground. Going from Thor to Cap to WW to Dark Phoenix to Superman, all physically interacting with each other, just looks neat.

One's becoming more futuristic, the other less.

I'm with you, Brad. That's why I'm glad JB (or the customer) selected this
version of the armor. At Marvel, iron Man has gone from chunky to sleek to
clunky.

Seeing commisions like this makes me realize something: I favor DC's heroes, but Marvel's villains.

The other thing is they're a fricken' tease, because now I want to see this story!

I'm always amazed at the story telling in JB's commissions. This one particularly makes my "mind's eye" flash with other panels that include Phoenix taking the lasso, Thor's hammer being willed to fall on the ground and I can even "see" the baseball swing that Iron Man is about to do with that girder. This isn't just a pretty picture. There is a HUGE story being told in that single panel and that is what makes JB's work so damn fun to look at.

Hmmm.  Its funny but the more complicated Iron Man's armor gets in the current comics the more 'hi tech' his classic red/gold armor looks to me.

Clean, streamlined, uncluttered.... y'know...Hi-tech.

Yes!  Why can't the half-wits running things at Marvel understand that?

Really like the Superman in addition to all the other good things in this commission.

Great. Now this picture has me wondering, who in the DC Universe could defeat Dark Phoenix?

*Tongue in cheek* Other than Batman, that is. *Tongue in cheek*

Great idea having Phoenix square off against non-mutant heavy hitters.

And fantastic execution, too.
