That makes no sense.  Superman thinks that by going before the UN and renouncing his citizenship, he can support a popular uprising in Iran without the Iranian government denouncing him as a puppet of the US government? Osama Bin Laden could have come out in favor of the protesters and he, too, would have been denounced as a puppet of the US government.

That's so politically naive as to suggest a medical diagnosis of diminished responsibility.

So, it's official, they're retconning Superman into a complete moron. Only a matter of time. Just needed a writer perfectly attuned to that kind of mindset.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with Superman being a US citizen. There are better ways to address any misgivings about Superman's role in international politics.

DC displays again an appalling degree of self-loathing.

As if Luthor being President hadn't been bad enough.

Just shoot the horse, dammit!

I don't care if they decide to start calling it Justice League Earth, to me it shall forever be the Justice League of America.

This logic, or lack thereof, is a bit frustrating.  Does anyone in the world think that Ban Ki-Moon pushes a biased Korean agenda as Secretary General of the UN?  Does anyone think that BKM's decisions reflect the official policy of Korea?

It would make more sense if Superman decided to become the DCU UN Secretary General, rather than renounce his citizenship.

Was Superman an American Citizen?  Jor-el and Lara snuck him across the border, and he was sheltered by the Kents, who pretended he was born in this country.  He's a real illegal immigrant, although in his case, the older, less politically correct term of "illegal alien" probably fits better.  Deport the bum.

I was planning on buying Superman #900 out of some nostalgia for
when anniversary issues such as this seemed like a big deal to me,
so thanks for the heads up about this latest nonsense DC has decided
to inflict upon my hero. Comics today really are completely divorced
from what they were in my youth, aren't they?

The next big story will be that Kal-El's rocket really crashed in Kenya -- where the Kents just happened to be on vacation. They then snuck the baby back to Smallville and modified Clark's Certificate of Live Birth.

These comic book events remind me of politics: it just gets worse and worse and somehow the bad things never seem to matter.  How is this even possible is what I'd like to know.

Superman was an American citizen?

*******************************

Yes.  He was made one by President Kennedy.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't David Goyer a big wig for the upcoming movie as well? If so, not a good sign.
