I remember one of those puzzle books referred to Wolverine having blue gloves with spring-out claws attached.

My first reaction to that X-Men villain quiz was: "What's Kalibak doing in there?" Then
I recognized who it was, but whoa-- BLASTAAR and KALIBAK... Separated At Birth?

I would love to see someone put one of these together with clip art culled from gloomy, muddy-colored, sleep-inducing, present day comic book art!

They'd have to take "FUN" out of the book's title.

I love Owen McCarron. He was the Canadian artist who drew and created all the Marvel Fun & Games puzzles and illustrations, plus a big ol' batch of coloring books in the 70's.

I was able to get a full set of unused Marvel Fun & Games comics a couple of years ago. If I had time, I'd scan them in....

Man, they were fun! Much more fun then the Fun Book collections...

Owen McCarron, if I'm not mistaken, did a couple of coloring books that I recall fondly. In one, the FF battled the Pink Fink, and in the other, the Hulk teamed up with a small, robotic alien shaped like the number Six.*

I so wanted Cross-Wordo to cross over in the Marvel Universe proper. He could totally have been a Defenders villain!

Regarding the Marvel Fun Books, I enjoy them immensely and pick up ones I don't have whenever I find them! Those things are treasure troves of stock images and "pin-up" shots of the Marvel characters! So much John Romita, Jim Starlin, Gil Kane, and Dave Cockrum goodness to be found in those!

*Sadly, Tricia Helfer was nowhere to be found at the time. Nor was Patrick McGoohan, come to think of it...

I forgot about those! I loved 'em! I remember taking them on family vacations to pass the driving time. Good memories - Thanks for reminding me!

Wow, what a blast from the past.  I had all of these, I think, but the Fun Book is the one I remember the most.  These were essential on long road trips(Dad didn't like to fly).

Sorry to be a wet blanket, but I bet the artists' major thought was that their work was being reused but they were getting no additional compensation.  I know, I know--"work for hire."
