I'm the first to say that I have no problem with JB working on comics that are not from the big two. Indeed, I love them.

Yet, I see this and can't help but feel a bit glum......this is a guy who loves the characters and whose work is head and shoulders above most.

Fun piece! Not only perfectly done-- but so unexpected and welcome!

Sandman montage? Who would've guessed? Why didn't I think of that? Awesome.

The technique made me think of another artist too-- not Crumb, but Jack Davis. It has his sense of whimsy
and dirtiness. Really cool.

Genius positioning of the central Sandman figure to divide up the sections of the montage.

Excellent scene choices.  I can't wait to see the larger scan of that top right battle!  Sandman is probably my second favorite Spider-villain.
