That Iron Man came out really cool...it's the rough metal technique we
have observed on Doom's armor!

(trying to think of other characters who would benefit from this...)

This is really something else.  What a unique and fantastic idea - I don't think a commission has ever been done that let's JB go down such a personal road.  And look at the results!!

And what perfect execution.  I've always enjoyed the way JB does these group shots, but this one is beyond the beyond.  It really draws you in and won't let go.

That's quite a crowd you've got there, Chief!  But not crowded.  It'll be fun just trying to figure out who's who in the pic.

This is so great. I'm sorry if this has already been asked, but is there a version with higher resolution?

••

If you mean higher than the one in the Gallery, no.

This is one of the most incredible pieces of comic art I have ever seen -- I would love a poster of this.  Just found the presidents -- that is so cool.

What I really appreciate about these is the thought that goes into it. You haven't just compiled a list of characters to draw and then just thrown them down on the page. The arrangement of who goes with who and the interactions are just priceless.

So we get Professor X leaning over to Niles Caulder , Quicksilver glaring at the Flashes, Alfred offering cigars to JJ and Perry, and the HateMonger and the Red Skull staring balefully at each other (hatin' on each other, in the modern venacular).

I think the decision to use gray tones on the background was a great one!  The figures pop.

Nathan,..you inked that ?

Will you be inking him on any upcoming comics?

What other books are you working on?
Your style is very Chic Stone via 1975 .

What an amazing piece...you never cease to amaze JB. I have no idea how you don't get "lost" in the picture with having some many characters...everything blends in so well...

Congrats Nathan.

JB wrote: "The ones you misidentified: Count Nefaria and "Jim White" (look more closely).
And you seem to have missed the Wizard (not yet Wingless)."

Ah, I see where I went wrong with the "Jim White" character, and the character's "real" identity makes Sally's questioning look at him all the more tragi-comic. Poor Sally...

The Wizard was apparently the character I was unable to identify with all of my multiple guesses. I'm just not used to seeing him prior to his costumed identity, I suppose.

"King of the Lava Men!" Of course! I should have gotten that! I won that issue of the Avengers in an in-store auction years and years ago...! Thanks, Greg!

Also, it seems as if in my rush through the crowd, I identified Perry White, but neglected to include him in my list. There's always that one last detail that gets overlooked... sigh...

Nathan, that's an interesting (and selfless!) idea you had, there!

As far as the work that went into ths is concerned, I think this is the best piece that I have ever seen. I couldn't even begin to grasp how to sketch out an idea like this with such grandeur.

The scope of this work is simply amazing. Nathan, you are a lucky man!

That is one of the most joyous pieces of comic art I've ever seen. It almost brings a tear to my eye. Thank you JB.

PS. Love Namor's look at Aquaman!
