Currently down to 4, tho Chris Ryall says I can have more if I need them.

Can you make a TPB out of 4 issues? I don't have one handy... I always think of them as 5(maybe?) or 6 or more issues...

That seems to be IDW's preference these days. FRONTIER DOCTOR was conceived as 5 issues, for instance, but they asked me to cut back to 4 for the trade. That's one of the reasons there were two stories in the final issue.

I fear the next logical step would be to shrink AFTERMATH down to a one-shot special... or worse yet, being altogether cancelled.

You will never get a complaint about the length of anything from me. I never thought we'd even get to read the end of JBNM. I am so ahead of where I thought I'd be in comics closure right now!

This looks like a blast.

If that happened, it would be my choice, as has been reducing it from the originally projected 10 issues to 4.

Guessing the cover needed to be drawn for the next Previews? I hope it's still the plan to see this series early next year! :)

What a great cover...I am so glad  this series got completed . 4 issues is better than no  issues . This series got me back into my LCS.

I am hoping that JB's Superhero series will be a monthly with no prolonged breaks.

John's comments about the trend towards gearing everything towards limited series/TPB collections reminds me of something that I learned back in the early 1990s, when local comic cons were still quite easy to find and attend.  I believe it was one of the editors of Dark Horse Comics making the rounds at this time, and he was a guest of a local con held in my home state along with Sal Buscema.  When I showed him the idea that I had for what would've been 50 to 70 issues of continuity in a series that I was putting together, he told me that they would only consider a short-run LS at that time.

Looking back, I could see how this has gone on to affect how all comics are published.  Yet we forget that there was a time when you were lucky to get a 2-issue story arc.

For those who like to keep track of such things, be it known that, with the fourth issue of COLD WAR finished yesterday, today I began in ernest the first issue of NEXT MEN: AFTERMATH.

(And I am discovering, to my great frustration, that to the words my typing fingers refuse to get right on the first pass, I must add AFTERMATH, which insists on being AFYERMATH!)
