To me, this looks like it came straight out of The Art of John Byrne, and I mean that in a good way. Even as you continue to grow as an artist, JB, you've maintained a consistency through it all.

To me, this looks like it came straight out of The Art of John Byrne, and I mean that in a good way. Even as you continue to grow as an artist, JB, you've maintained a consistency through it all.•• Funny thing about that. As I work to peel away all the stuff I don't like about my art -- an ongoing process -- there are still moments when I look at something that REALLY WORKS, and think Yet it still looks like John Byrne drew it! Ultimately, that's the goal, I guess!

JB doing an original "sprawling space epic" is a comic I dearly, dearly want some day. I know Next Men could be considered such, but JBNM sits securely in the "superhero" genre in my internal filing cabinet. I want some Moebius-style John Byrne!

JB have you ever tried markers on marker paper? It's a completely different feel and effect. Although, the marker do dry slower on marker paper... or rather, the paper doesn't suck up the ink as quickly.
