What a wonderful piece. I love this whole concept. I prefer the blue versions.

The blue seems to work a little better for me, mainly because Ben and Johnny stand out a bit more.

Agreed. blue for me. Boy I hope you run out of commissions more often (not that I don't like commissions too but I think this shows commissioners should leave more to your imagination), this is fun.

I can't decide between blue and yellow...I'd say use both and have them be green! :)

Seriously, there are pros and cons of either...the pros of yellow are covered I think, but the only con of yellow I can think of is that seeing Sue's blonde hair over it just seems wrong to me!

Not liking the blue as much, but the yellow is too X (and what color would the X-Men wear, unless this is a Marvel house uniform?).  Maybe red?  Would Johnny get lost if they were all the same color?

Some of the other "nominated" colors. . .

Definitely like the red out of all those shown.  And Johnny's alternate red costume, which I always liked, becomes the norm (more or less).

And here, again, is the black and white version, which, as noted in the X-Men thread, is said to have been Kirby's actual color choice, and which, I suppose, is about as close as this design allows to the black and white uniforms I put the team into. . .

I'll take those white uniforms over the "Future Foundation" outfits any day.

The team looks great as a whole with the red.

They'd be even closer if the highlights in the black were colored blue instead of gray--

But my favorite so far is the red version -- that look would have hooked me as a young reader, I think.

I expect to see rings on their fingers in the green image...
