Not a horrible schedule for the Beats. Don't like the Sunday-thursday for weeks 1 and 2 though!

I like the Seahawks schedule. I'll miss the Monday night game, we'll be in Greece and Turkey for four weeks, but again I'll be in Greece and Turkey, so screw football.

I do like that the Hawks end the final two weeks in Seattle, been a while since two games ended in Seattle.

Here's a cut and paste from the Seattle Times and their assessment of the Seahawks schedule.

The Seahawks' schedule includes two prime-time appearances, a game against Buffalo that will be played in Toronto, and a two-game homestand against division opponents San Francisco and St. Louis to conclude the regular season.

 OpponentDateTime
Week 1car-mark-1-cl.gifat Arizona CardinalsSunday, Sept. 91:15 p.m.
Storyline: Seattle has not won its first road game of the year since 2006 when it beat Detroit 9-6 in the regular-season opener. Seattle is 1-5 at Arizona since the Cardinals moved into their new stadium in Glendale, Ariz., in 2006.
Week 2cow-mark-1-cl.gifvs. Dallas CowboysSunday, Sept. 161 p.m.
Storyline: Seattle has lost three games to Dallas over the past four seasons by a combined score of 85-39. However, all three games were played in Dallas. This is the first time since 2005 that Dallas will play in Seattle. Seattle is 2-8 vs. the NFC East over the previous four seasons.
Week 3pac-mark-1b-cl.gifvs. Green Bay PackersMonday, Sept. 245:30 p.m.
Storyline: Seattle's new quarterback is Green Bay's old backup, but that's not the only reason Matt Flynn will be centerstage in this game. The Packers led the league in scoring at 35 points last year. The Seahawks ranked No. 28 in overall offense, and they are going to be hard pressed to keep pace.
Week 4ram-mark-1-cl.gifat St. Louis RamsSunday, Sept. 3010 a.m.
Storyline: Seattle has won 13 of its past 14 regular-season games against the Rams, and defeated St. Louis by a combined total of 54-20 in two meetings last year.
Week 5pan-mark-1-cl.gifat Carolina PanthersSunday, Oct. 71 p.m.
Storyline: Seattle is 0-2 at Carolina, which is one of only two NFL cities where the Seahawks have never won. Baltimore is the other. The Seahawks never played the Colts in Baltimore and are 0-2 on the road vs. the Ravens.
Week 6pat-mark-1-cl.gifvs. New England PatriotsSunday, Oct. 141 p.m.
Storyline: Pete Carroll spent three seasons as Patriots coach before he was fired after the 1999 season. He remade himself as a football in nine seasons at USC and now faces his former franchise for the first time.
Week 7for-mark-1-cl.gifat San Francisco 49ersThursday, Oct. 185:20 p.m.
Storyline: Seattle has lost three consecutive road games at San Francisco, none of those games decided by fewer than 13 points.
Week 8lio-mark-1-cl.gifat Detroit LionsSunday, Oct. 2810 a.m.
Storyline: Seattle is 7-4 against Detroit since entering the league.
Week 9vik-mark-1-cl.gifvs. Minnesota VikingsSunday, Nov. 41 p.m.
Storyline: The Vikings have won the past two regular-season meetings against the Seahawks by a combined score of 66-22.
Week 10jet-mark-1-cl.gifvs. New York JetsSunday, Nov. 111 p.m.
Storyline: Seattle has lost eight of its last 10 regular-season games against the Jets going back to 1985, though the Seahawks did win the most recent matchup between the two teams, a 13-3 victory in 2008.
Week 11BYE
Week 12dol-mark-1-cl.gifat Miami DolphinsSunday, Nov. 2510 a.m.
Storyline: Seattle is 1-5 at Miami during the regular season, the Seahawks only regular-season road victory coming in 1990.
Week 13bea-mark-1-cl.gifat Chicago BearsSunday, Dec. 210 a.m.
Storyline: This is the sixth time in seven seasons the Seahawks and Bears will play in the regular season. They've also met twice in the playoffs in that time. This is the third year in a row the Seahawks play at Chicago, Seattle winning there each of the previous two regular-season meetings.
Week 14car-mark-1-cl.gifvs. Arizona CardinalsSunday, Dec. 91:15 p.m.
Storyline: The Seahawks and Cardinals split their two-game regular-season series last year, and each game was decided by three points.
Week 15bil-mark-1-cl.gifvs. Buffalo Bills (in Toronto)Sunday, Dec. 161 p.m.
Storyline: Buffalo has won the last two meetings between these teams by a combined score of 72-19, but this one is exported to Canada making a unique setting.
Week 16for-mark-1-cl.gifvs. San Francisco 49ersSunday, Dec. 231:15 p.m.
Storyline: The 49ers' 19-17 victory at Seattle on Christmas Eve was a physical, tightly played contest between two teams, and the fact that one of San Francisco's coaches shouted, "Merry Christmas" as he walked through the press box to the elevator won't do anything to lessen the emotional intensity this time around.
Week 17ram-mark-1-cl.gifvs. St. Louis RamsSunday, Dec. 301:15 p.m.
Storyline: Seattle has won seven in a row at home vs. the Rams, and six of those seven consecutive home victories against St. Louis were by 10 points or more. The Rams have not won in Seattle since a 33-27 overtime victory in October 2004.

Poor Browns, they look to have another bad season ahead. Which is par for the course in Cleveland.

I'll have to buy tickets for some Steelers home games to make my wife happy. While I would love to see them play the Ravens, she hates it when the Steelers lose. ;)

Bears just signed Chilio Rachal (OG) to a 1 year deal.  Rumor has it they're also talking to Rocky McIntosh (LB) currently.

A lot of little moves that are adding some nice depth prior to the draft. I like what Emery is doing so far.  Let's see if I can still say that on April 29th!

In response to Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton declaring the Vikings likely must wait another year for a new stadium bill, Vikings vice president Lester Bagley said next year is "not an option":

"There's no next year," Bagley said. "Our state leaders know that if we want an NFL team in this market we have to resolve this stadium issue."

Is this merely posturing on the part of the Vikings or will they be playing in Los Angeles next year? NFL teams have until mid-Feb. 2013 to officially declare their intentions to relocate for next season.

Love the Steelers new 80th anniversary throwbacks, one of my favorite unis since its the first year they made football cards (back when they were still the Pirates).

I think they should also wear the leather helmets to make the look complete!  The Steelers should be tough enough to handle it.

Since we're a week away, time for a mock draft.

I'm not sure if anyone here ever goes to Walterfootball.com or not, but he holds a mock draft contest where the top prize is $350.  Granted, not a lot of money, but fun to do nonetheless.  Anyway, here's my current mock:  LINK.  I'll be curious to hear your comments about it.

I like to follow who the Vikes pick up and I'm interested where Gators go, but I'm just not invested in the draft past the first two rounds.  I know for some that it's akin to a religious experience, but I just can't get excited about who takes the 175th pick in the draft.

I enjoy the first round of the draft, interested in the second, but after that I can wait and see who the Seahawks picked in the paper or online. I don't need to watch it live, but if nothing else is going on, I'll watch.

I enjoy the whole draft. The later rounds give more time to really look into what individual teams have done in the offseason.

Falcons best draft news for today (Not having a #1) was picking up Asante Samuel for a 7th round pick. To be our nickelback. The season is looking up for them,

What. A. Crazy. First. Round.

Seattle picks a boom or, more likely, bust guy.  Browns once again out think themsevles and draft a 28 year old Qb in the 1st round.  And New England trades up...TWICE!

Oh, and I do like the Bears' pick.  They could have drafted Riley Reiff an dplugged him at LT this year, but nope...  McClellin will be pretty good I think, I just wanted more "bang for the buck" with that pick.

I like the Pats picks. It looks like they might be trying to get back to a more 3/4 defense; lets see what they do today with their last two picks.

Are there any good Gators left? Bill likes his Gators.

I think the Bears made the right position selection. Now whether or not it is the right guy will be determined later. He is smart, high motor, with very good instincts so it seems like a nice fit.

Like the Bears picks. I like Shea McClellin...I think he'll be around for quite a
while. Jefferies was a real solid move in the 2nd, too. I thought for sure
they'd go D-Line, but WR was a good move. Look out, Green Bay, we've got
us a passing game!!!

I was a bit surprised by their third rounder...but they need to shore up that
secondary and Major Wright just can't seem to stay healthy.

Hope they draft a D-Lineman in the 4th!

Go Bears!
