Inking that TRIO cover must have been some of Sinnott's final work. You're lucky to have gotten that, JB! I hope I can find a copy.

Interesting to see how Joe handled Rock. He doesn't have that same smooth, polished marble feel.

Did Joe Sinnott retire? I thought he was still inking the Spider-man newspaper strip.

Already got the variant covers ordered. Made sure I wouldn't miss out on this starting like I did with Aftermath #40 of which I still can't find a reasonable price on ebay. :(

Sinnott's final work?  Don't scare me, kid.

Of course, I expect that he's gotten near the end of his life thread.  Hitting your 80s and still doing (some) comicbook art is quite an achievement.  Very, very few of these guys left with us will have a chance to be introduced to the potential young readers.

Looking forward to seeing what Tom, Terry, Joe and company may turn out in the coming months.  I'm kind of surprised that no one thought of using the old "Rock, Paper, Scissors!" game as the basis for a super-group before now.

JB, I have often heard you speak of Kirby's explanation of the "Dinosaur hide" for The Thing, but did you have some similar vernacular to express Rock's surface to Joe?

Rock is. . . rock. And he depends more on the imported texture seen on the previous page, than on the line work.

Here's a little something in which I thought some of you might find interesting: the B cover for issue 2, with my pencils on the LEFT, and Tom's inks on the RIGHT.

Seems like maybe I should quash the speculation now, so people won't get too disappointed. Terry has unconnected considerations that will prevent him participating. No plans for Rubenstein.
