There are a few superhero books out there if you look. Wild Cards has had a few new "novels" and there's a few others that I've seen crop up.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone else read these books?

I read the Wild Cards series as it was published...really fun stuff.  The first one was a shared world collection of short stories, they then moved to novel length adventures...they introduce new characters all the time while still using and or touching on pre-existing ones...I loved it collected the whole pile and then gave them to my sister in law.

Oh, and just to remain on topic.

Of Course Superheroes can work in novel fiction...it is entirely dependent on the skill of the writer and the interest of the reader.

Recently read Soon I will be Invincible by Austin Grossman.  It was a fun romp told from the alternating perspective of a supervillain and a new superheroine.

Lars, thank you for those pictures, particularly the Adventure Gamebooks. I really hope I can find them at some point.

I have thought of something. I have known people who dismiss superheroes, but would probably pick up those books. It's unfortunate that some people equate a comic with being juvenile, ridiculous and beneath them, yet will give the time of day to novels.

Perhaps one day there won't be a stigma against reading comics.
