Couldn't find this in the earlier threads. But just wondered - what's your favourite version of Superman across all media?

I have a very strong affinity for Swan, JB and Kirby from the comics, as well as Christopher Reeve's first Superman outing, but for me, it's the Fleischer animated shorts that tops the list. I have an endless love for these cartoons. I my opinion, they captured the majesty of Superman and a true sense of adventure that sometimes has been lacking since. Their Superman was perfectly suited to the times, and the artwork is still to this day awe-inspiring. Makes me wish they'd also made a series of Batman short films. Could've been amazing.

JB's Superman is my favorite version. That was my fist time reading the character on a regular basis and it really made me love the DC universe as much as Marvel.

I love the first 2 Christopher Reeves movies too and various other comics versions of Superman and those Fleisher cartoons and the 50's TV series, but when I think of Superman, JB's comes to mind first.

I have to agree with Ivan about the Fleisher Superman...  Great stuff.

JB's MOS and The first 2 Christopher Reeve movies for me.  Love the Fleischer cartoons though, best comic book animation ever.

When I was younger Reeves but when I read Man of Steel i was completely taken by it and it has forever remained "my" Superman.

Ditto with Lois, Morning wage slaves, what's news? Still makes me smile because I can hear her saying it.

I'm torn with the Fleischer cartoons but I'll go with JB's version.

I love all of them, that I can think of, for one reason or another and I think that's part of the beauty of the character.

The Byrne years and the Fleischer cartoons win hands down.

When I think of Superman, it's the Curt Swan version I see in my mind's eye.  I was organizing some of my old comics and looked at a few Swan issues from the early 70's, I had forgotten how good he was. Great story telling. One thing that struck me, his Superman looks about 40.
