Taking into account of all media, whenever I think of Superman I think of Christopher Reeve.

JB made me like Superman again. By the time his Superman was
publised, I "hated" Superman. To me, he needed to be knocked
down a peg or three. JB made me like him again.

JB actually made me want to purchase Superman.
I grew up with the Swan / Adams version of the character. Found him dull as dishwater. I had no interest in plunking down any coin.

JB revitalized the character and for the first time in my life, I was regularly buying Superman.

And it was damn good too.

For comics, I'd say JBs. I grew up with the Silver Age version, but never bought the Superman titles regularly 'til JB did his take.

I love the full-blown Silver Age Superman!  Give me all of the mythology and supporting characters and villains of that era:  Krypto!  The Fortress of Solitude!  Supergirl!  Bizarro!  Titano the Super Ape!  The Bottle City of Kandor!  Lois Lane trying to expose Superman's identity!  The Daily Planet's Flying Newsroom!  Great Caesar's Ghost!!!!!  Multi-colored Kryptonite!!!

...now that I think of it, those two are basically the same thing.

Nathan, not sure I'd agree with that.  "The Look" aside, movie Superman struck me more Schwartzish than Byrneish.

Anyway, JB's #1, with the Timmverse version a close second.

It's a tricky question, because Superman is not really a single entity. It's rather like asking "What's your favorite food?"

So, I'd have to break it down. George Reeves introduced me to the character, so he will always have a special place in my heart. As will Wayne Boring, who was principle artist when I started reading the comics. The Fleischer cartoons gave another kind of life to Superman, as did Christopher Reeve.

Pick one? Can't be done.

Swan.  Those are the stories I read over and over.
