For me it is reminiscent of some very early Neal Adams, where he, too, was already a supremely talented artist, but hadn't quite mastered how to best position the camera and the players to capture the great stuff he wanted to show. You shed all of that seemingly pretty quickly to become in my mind one of the cleanest layout and composition artists out there. An amazing transformation!•• That was a distinct problem for a lot of us who tried to emulate Neal. There was a tendency to skim off the surface, and not capture what was going on underneath. So, funky layouts and dubious storytelling abounded!
