I was looking over some of the work I've produced in the last decade or so, and realized the last time I had a real, honest to gosh VACATION was in 1988!! I have been working more or less constantly since then, including weekends since I started doing commissions.

So...... the time has come to down tools for a while. Sort of. I'm currently thinking about giving myself a few months off, once TRIO's five issue "pilot run" is done. IDW and I have been talking about some restructuring of our "arrangement", so I can start saying "This is what I'm going to do next..." instead of "Would you be interested in..." so that means some of the things that have been buzzing around in my brain will almost certainly be coming your way. Most likely, I'll be turning into Mr. MiniSeries, producing 4 or 5 issue "clumps" of different concepts, and repeating some of them depending on how well the market responds.

So, some time around July I'll be "on vacation" -- except that I'll still be doing commissions. Good news on that front, for those who are considering them: at least until I get "back to work", this will considerably shorten the wait time!

Interesting to hear.... I've just been in the middle of a nightmare house move and should be in a position to order a new commission in the coming months, so good to hear that the opportunity is still there. Hope you enjoy whatever time you give yourself off.

Enjoy your "time off", JB.  Any thoughts of really leaving the drawing board behind for a while and doing some traveling?

Enjoy, JB...you deserve it. Also glad to hear about the possibility of an evolving relationship with IDW.

Hopefully, we will see some cool and random drawings as well beyond the commissions.
