20" x 30" commission of X-Men vs. Alpha Flight; the details are:

Characters:

- Cyclops
- Storm
- Nightcrawler
- Wolverine
- Colossus
- Vindicator
- Shaman
- Snowbird
- Sasquatch
- Aurora
- Northstar

All costumes as drawn in Uncanny X-Men # 121.

Background of the Calgary Stampede.

Please have Sasquatch prominent, Shaman using his totems, and Snowbird in her human form.

Title for this thread comes from my having asked Jim to decline any future requests for this particular fight. The only reference I have for the Stampede Grounds are the issue in which this tussle originally appeared, and that leaves us with a combination of me being tired of drawing the same thing over and over, AND me feeling bad that I can't give those who ask for this a greater variety.

So, all the X-Men/Alpha Flight kerfuffles you want, just not in this locale any more!

(Dan is on the road, so it may be a few days before this one appears in the Gallery.)

Nice! I'm always amazed by these big fight scene commissions and how so many characters can be fit into them with every one of those characters seeming meaningful to the story and having something to do. It never looks like anyone's been squeezed in there just because they have to be present.

The "trick" is to place the largest or most space consuming character(s) first. In this case, Sasquatch. The big characters tend to define the negative spaces around them, and then it becomes not unlike a jigsaw puzzle, fitting the rest of the cast into those spaces.

The image looks different after an explanation like that. Not any less impressive, just like the process is more visible. Interesting.

I second that this is the best Sasquatch ever! Another marvelous commission, JB. In regards to this fight scene, you saved the best for last.

I really dig how Wolverine went straight for Mac!

It's not hard to picture every particular battle in it. Amazing!
