OK, since Stephane started the ball rolling for me over in my left-handed
comic book artists thread, here's some stuff this lefty did back in the day.
Please everyone be kind. I'm fragile.

Me trying to channel some guy named Byrne.

Thanks Aaron. I really appreciate it! I wish I could somehow get back to the
facility and passion I had for drawing back then. Just never seem to have the
time or concentration anymore though.

I'm having the same problem lately. I primarily write now, but I drew quite well when I was younger, then stopped about 12 years ago. I recently did a couple sketches while sitting around and realized i still have some ability, but every time I try to "unrust" now, I hit a wall of frustration because I know what I used to be capable of. I just can't seem to gather the needed discipline anymore.

Man, talk about hearing your own thoughts from someone else! That's
spooky Aaron. I'm right there with you.
I just can't figure out how to just 'do' anymore without thinking about it.

I bought a scanner recently, for several reasons, and I'm hoping having it here will inspire me to put some effort into drawing again, since the scanner will allow me to post stuff here. I think participating like that might help me get the energy I need to do it.

I think my biggest problem is when I imagine what I want to draw, the image I'm seeing is the image I might have been able to produce years ago, but due to not practicing in a decade, the actual drawing doesn't match the expectation and frustration starts.

Bingo! I think patience is going to have to be the key in both our cases.
It's like exercise or anything else, if you start slow and apply yourself
everyday, you will see results; it just might take a little longer than we'd
like.

Looking at this old stuff has sort of stirred me a little bit, and we're
supposed to have a rainy weekend here in Alabama, so I really have no
excuse not to sit around and draw all weekend(well most of it anyway).

I think my promise to myself is going to be to have something new to
post on here Monday. I don't know if it will be original or an
interpretation of someone else's work, but it will be something new.

I think I'll try the same thing. I'll get this new scanner up and running this weekend and also draw something to post. I know I can still do it. There's no good reason for any excuses.

That's your junk?

Invite me over on garbage day; I'll help you clean up.

(In other words: sweet!)
