Please include the following heroes:

- Marionette
- Commander Rann
- Acroyear (wielding his energy sword)
- Bug
- Wasp (in her costume from Avengers # 188)
- Yellowjacket (in the costume you drew him in on your run on Avengers)

Villain of your choice from the following:

- Psyclop (from Avengers # 88)
- Taskmaster (from Avengers # 196)
- Odd John (from Micronauts 19-20)

Your choice of background.

Except for one "naughty" sketchbook drawing of Marionette, I think this is it for my Micronauts work, Mike.

(Hm. Almost a hundred views and only two posts? Micro-love for the Mircronauts?)

Aw, man! Well it looks great and publishable, which I guess is the whole point, so well done!

I was a fan of the little see-through toys and not Marvel's comics (why two different lines with the same name, anyway?), but this is pretty fantastic!

Poor Jan.  It seems like she spent half her early Avengers career locked in one tube or another  :^)

Great job. I loved those characters back when the book came out. You capture them really well here. Nicely done making Commander Rann a lefty. Not enough of us..um those in comics.

Credit there to Dave Cockrum.   I used his first issue cover as part of the reference for this piece, and he drew Rann holding his pistol in his left hand.

I'd forgotten that. Time to go dig out the back issues and do a little walk down memory lane this fine Saturday now.

Great cover ! I wish you would have followed Golden on the book.

If I had, it wouldn't have looked like this!

Michael was SO far ahead of me in those days. When MICRONAUTS blew X-MEN out of the water in various fan awards, during its first year, I had no problem with it at all. The book WAS that good!

This one is mine!

I'm mostly a lurker on this board but I had to post about how pleased I am with this commission...and my  other "imaginary cover" commissions (Invaders, Avengers, Defenders, Marvel Team Up, and Champions).

My "comic age" was the late 70's into the early 80's, and John Byrne was my favorite artist.  I cannot describe how incredible it is to own original artwork by him.  Thank you, John, for the many years of entertainment and art.  It might sound silly...but your comics did a lot to shape me into the adult I became.  The comics of my youth taught me a great deal about trying to do the right thing and heroism.  Thank you again.

(And thanks to Jim Warden for making this and my other commissions possible.  He is wonderfully easy to work with.)

Now I'm going back to staring at my commission.  Wow....

Love this. MICRONAUTS was the title that hooked me on comics for life. As opposed to casually reading whatever I came across, this was the first title I actively sought out, and the first title I bought back issues for. And I always thought if I could scrape up the cash for a JB commission, it would be of the Micronauts!

What a cool piece!  The Micronauts debuted shortly after I got back into comics and quickly became one of my favorite titles.  I really wish they had made the comic book a limited series and ended it after the defeat of Baron Karza because it went down a path it really suffered from.  The first year though is some great storytelling.  This commission really grasps the sense of awe I used to get when reading those issues way back when.

awesome!

NICE!!! I have started appreciating the "imaginary" or "make believe" covers that JB has been doing. I think every single one of them makes me wish the actual comic book existed with interior art by the Chief.

I agree with the Michael Golden comments. I love his Micronauts work and there is a GI Joe Annual he did back then that is top notch as well. I can't remember the issue.

Incredible!  Once I read the description, I hoped you'd pick Psyclop.  Great piece.  Acroyear was my favorite in that book.

Wonderful! A strong hook team-up and a great visual villain and one of the best logos in comics history. And extra points for an original JB Baron Karza figure nstead of just transferring one of the old logo's cornerbox figures. That's like a cool little "extra."

Congrats, Stuart! That's a sweet piece of art you've got there!

I remember reading (and enjoying) THE MICRONAUTS as a kid, but can't tell
you anything about them except that they're small!
