Amazing work!
Some of those likenesses are little miracles.
Thanks for the post!

Anthony, M5's creator ("Dr. Richard Daystrom") is right behind Uhura, just to the right of Nurse Chapel.

Beautiful piece.

Thanks for locating him Rick. I loved his voice. I am surprised to learn that William Marshall born in Gary, Indiana and that he was an opera singer. With that amazing voice I can believe it. As I'm thinking about it. He could have done an excellent job as Darth Vader Both in Voice and acting but his height as well.

Incidentally, one of the things that really impresses me about this piece is how few lines Dusty was able to use to capture so many likenesses. A few quick strokes, and 99% of the characters are instantly recognizable, and the rest after scarcely a moment's thought.

+++++++++

Yeah, there's a certain fun and, I dunno, cartoony look to the piece, but the characters and likenesses are still pretty much all recognizable. And, for so MANY characters for him to have drawn, that's quite an accomplishment!

Any idea how long this masterpiece took to complete?

Oh, and I love the fact that Lazarus is standing on top of Vaal.

I'd say the odds are good that he's about to fall off...

This is so incredibly good it's making me like something about episodes that I just don't, e.g., "The Paradise Syndrome." Dusty Abell's rendering of the Indian Girl from that episode is... wow!

Dusty mentioned that he worked on it off-and-on for about 3 years - in his spare time. I love the style - it reminds me of a refined version of the animated series.

And that makes a lot of sense, as Dusty is an animator for Cartoon Network's DC NATION!

That is 10 kinds of awesome!

Is Sally Kellerman in her "Hot Lips" uniform instead of Dr. Dehner?

Sorry just checked the key and that is not Sally Kellerman.

Many times, when questions are asked at cons, or in chat rooms, or on message boards, I have told the person asking that before they did so they should have asked themselves a question: "Why?"

Why would Dusty have dropped Hot-Lips into this poster, just because she was played by the same actor? The answer, as you discovered, is that he wouldn't.

For some reason, the link at the top will only take me to a Deviant login page.  Here's a direct link to the art.

I'm not a huge Trek fan, but I have really enjoyed the trip down Memory Lane!
