That piece has the same effect on me as a lot of silver-age covers, it makes me want to read that story.

I can't forget to mention Joe H. who insisted that I add a villain to the scene. My first idea was to just have the Quartet charging into a battle withno villain on screen. After seeing this I think he was a 100% right!

Fantastic! Mr. Byrne always serves Cap well (and the rest are all good, too, pleasure to see Kang again).

Cap looks great, but it's the other four characters that really make this piece a hot for me! I dig the way JB drew this particular vintage of Quicksilver, and that Scarlet Witch headpiece is my favorite. Hawkeye really looks like he's shooting an arrow, and Kang appears suitably threatening though he is the smallest figure on the page!

WOW! Just...WOW!
Drawing a man, shooting a bow, look is harder than most people think. Hawkeye here, looks AMAZING.
My, favorite is Cap! That's where, IMO, the story of this piece is. Not only does he look like he's protecting two of his teammates, but he looks like he's leading other Avengers, that are just off screen, to the battle. AWESOME!
Then there's the background. Looking at this piece, I realize why I've never made it pro, and should just burn all of my art supplies.

Oh Man, that is a great piece!! Everything about this one is working, down to Quicksilver being irked at Wanda in distress!
