BAT/CAP 2 was the first thing I thought of seeing this.

Nice commish

BATMAN & CAPTAIN AMERICA 2

in that fully rendered pencil style as used in Angel Blood and Trenches !!!

Maybe the boss (JB) will post a splash page of B/C2 in the Fan Fic section this christmas as a "gift" -- and to just mess with our heads    LOL

Now that is just frelling awesome! I love seeing JB draw any kind of good guys fighting nazis. Bat/Cap was great and would like to see a #2. This also brings back memories of the Namor story line which is one of my all time favorites from JB's run. Congrats to the commissioner.

Captain America vs. Golgotha - that's a pairing that makes so much sense (and looks great depicted, as above!).

Another lucky commissioner - talk about a fab Crimbo prezzie, wow!

(...of course, now I want to save up the pennies, and get my own WWII-era cross-over - Steve Rogers and Cliff Secord! Loved JB's recent Rocketeer work at IDW, so frankly it's a no-brainer - time to take out a mortage on my saxophones to cover it, methinks!)

Take that Captain Nazi!! That's for crippling poor Freddy Freeman! Great job JB. I love the Fawcett characters.

JB, I have to compliment you on your Batman (both of them). I'm always amazed to see your Batman, whether it's the Golden Age type we see in this commission or the more "Aparo" version that showed up in last week's commission. The fascinating thing is that they look so different yet are both unmistakably Batman and give off the same Batman aura while each feeling like the character as he was portrayed in two different eras. It's wonderful how you manage to capture two different versions of the same character but make them feel the same and different simultaneously. I really, really wish the climate at DC would be corrected so you could work with him again.

And Cap, as always in your work, is excellent too.

...is this the first time a historical figure has been in a commission?

•••

Nay! Presidents Lincoln and Kennedy have each made a bow, in the same piece.

Very nice, JB. Love the shots of the characters especially the heroes. Captain America and Batman look wonderful.

Congrats, Larry. Great idea for a commission.
