That is one nice commission. Congrats to you, Dan. Very nicely done, Chief and thanks for the anecdotes!

I can't stop trying to imagine how this would look inked by George
Perez. I loved the JB/GP combo in ACTION COMICS #600.

I've been looking at this piece over and over again, and it will most definitely be a perfect compliment to the other Marvel/DC crossovers I already have - Superman/Spider-Man and Batman/Hulk.

This one will complete my theme of the early crossovers as published back in the 70's and 80's.  Those books were all such huge pieces of my comic book memories, seeing JB's take on them has been great.

A few things really stand out to me on this piece:
. Nightcrawler's face
. Cyclops' left hand (some Neal Adams influence on JB - do ya think!?)
. The motion lines on Changeling - suggesting he was free-falling then changed into the bird mid-fall
. The partial obfuscation and integration of JB's signature into the rubble
Just awesome!

Thanks again, JB!

Great crossover commission! This is one idea that has been percolating in my brain too. It's a very exciting image.

Thanks for the info in why Walt did the art, I'd wondered why you hadn't done the art, JB.

The Marvel/DC crossovers lost some of their magic after the X-Men/Teen Titans comic.

Sometimes an artist can make what we imagine real. This is one of those times.

Wow!  Nice work JB!

Kid Flash, Wolverine and Cyclops are standouts for me.  I totally love the speed-effects of Kid Flash's legs.  I'd give my eye teeth to see a Silver Age Teen Titans series from JB.

Fantastic.

A wonderful dream-come-true What If? version of the much-loved crossover. I wouldn't change the Simonson visuals but it is still fun to imagine what it would have been like had things gone differently...

Also, it's not disappointment at all, but reading the title, I had sort of hoped this would be a picture of Marie Severin's Teen Hulk feature from Crazy Magazine! There are simply not enough commissions that capitalize on JB's talent for visual humor...
