11" x17" illo of Superman with no background, the details are:- Superman in the costume from your Man of Steel series - Superman in a patriotic pose similar to Superman #24 with US flag (The commissioner is currently in the military and would like a patriotic illustration featuring your Man of Steel vintage Superman)

The figure work is excellent, but what I like most is the fluid way you rippled the lines on the flag. Looks effortless and really nails the movement of the flag fluttering.

That looks pretty amazing, JB!One more lucky commissioner. That is a smile, a very positive vibe emanating from this piece. I love the way the flag is realistically drawn. Just love the way you trace the lines of the drawing, so clear, clean, firm with elegance. There is sensuality in your ligne claire, always loved that in your art.

Side Note: After all these years, and all these times, I STILL get a kick every time I draw the S emblem. Even if it's just a quick doodle, showing someone HOW to draw it, as I have many a time at cons over the years. There is a magic in drawing that S that transcends everything else I have done in comics.

Love it! And the boots look like boots, not an extension of the tights!

JB, your "fish" technique results in the most consistently drawn Superman "S" in the biz!

SUPERMAN!
Neat co-incidence that we were discussing the 75th anniversary request from DC and here we are treated to a great Superman piece from you. Thanks for posting this Chief! (as always)

Just thinking how spectacular this piece would serve as a variant cover... ------------------------------------------------------------ ----------------------------------

John Byrne ~~~~~~~~~~ Yes, and it was that magic that you feel, JB, that translated to me when I was 10 years old the first time I read MOS #3, That was for me the most perfect S emblem I've ever seen. That's how it should be done.
