Yesterday I embarked on a major cleaning out of the rooms adjacent to my Studio -- the flat files room, and the "business office" -- and under a mountain of boxes I found a small box containing xeroxes of pencils from books like AMAZING SPIDER-MAN (my last time there), LOST GENERATION, HIDDEN YEARS, AMAZON, even TRUE BRIT. About 40 books all told, some 800+ pages. These are reduced copies, about the size of the printed books.My first instinct, of course, was to throw them out, since they are of no further use to me -- but then I had an idea. Why not put them to practical use? So! A "contest". Today is May 14th. By this time next month, June 14th, whoever can show proof of having made the largest donation to charity wins the whole box. Your Charity choices are the American Red Cross, the ALS Foundation, the American Cancer Society, and the Humane Society of the United States. Plenty of other worthy causes, of course, but those are my personal top four, so please pick from them. You will, of course, be able to write off the donation on your taxes. Go to it, peoples! May the most generous among you win!
