John, I've a question re "do's and don'ts."  I'm drawing a panel on a sequential page, vertically-oriented; maybe 3" wide by 6" high.  3/4 downshot, two figures.  Horizon line maybe 10' high relative to the ground plane.  One guy is lying on ground unconscious, the other standing erect over him.

For the guy standing erect, is it OK to crop him above the waist, just south of his pecs?  Meaning, everything north of his chest is out of frame and we see him from that point down to the floor.  He's already been established on the page so it's clear who he is.  I'm just concerned about the crop.  As always, thank you for your time.

Cropping figures is more about what's awkward than what's appropriate to the storytelling. If we already know who the standing figure is, then there should not be a problem cropping.
