20" x 30" illustration of Galactus vs. nine DC heroes, the details are: Please have a similar feel as the Avengers and FF vs. Galactus commission from several years ago:

http://www.artofjohnbyrne.com/gallery/commissions/commission s-large/commissions-large2005/byrneffg.jpg.php

The setting is the rooftop of the Daily Planet with the letters and globe in recognizable rubble; the characters, in order of prominence, are: - Batman (most prominent hero in Neal Adams costume (with oval on chest)

- Superman in Man of Steel costume

- Wonder Woman in costume from this commission:

- Green Lantern in Neal Adams costume

- Hawkman

- Dr. Fate

- Green Arrow in Neal Adams costume

- Metaporpho

- Flash in classic Silver-Age costume Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman are largest hero figures; Green Lantern, Hawkman, and Dr. Fate are next most significant, please do not draw any figures smaller than the Captain America figure on the Avengers and FF vs. Galactus commission.

Holy cognitive dissonance!  What fun to see some of DC's heavy hitters (and lessers) really going at it with one of Marvel's legendary "villains."  I love how you have them attacking him seemingly from all sides at once, something that I've often felt isn't shown enough in comics when a group fights a larger individual.  That's some tricky staging, nicely rendered.

A perfect example of how Batman beats any adversary, he used the prep time to call in the JLA.

Love the metallic look to the big G's hands, and how the capes bleed off both sides of the page.

Honestly, how can you call this a commission?  There is the story telling aspect that is going on from the facial expressions to the body language that just don't get anywhere else.  I imagine after obtaining one of these, it ruins you for all others.  Spectacular!

Thanks, Dan!

Oh, and I meant to mention, my title does double service, referencing how long it's been since I posted a commission, AND the JSA/Galactus piece I did a few years back.

Very nice!

I'm not sure anyone draws giant characters (or miniature ones) better than Mr. Byrne!

ARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

Just looked at the piece above and realized I somehow managed to leave out what I call the "Kermit the Frog" part of Galactus' helmet -- the part that pokes up above the top!
