If this kind of quality still went into the books I'd still be reading them.

Very nice characterization. I can only imagine the coloring horror stories you must have in memory, JB.

JB Has a colorist ever contacted you to get clarification. When coloring something when they might not be sure about the composition?

JB is the best Storm and Colossus artist ever.

As far as the all-new, all-different X-Men I would say JB is the best artist for the entire cast (however I will at least listen to arguments for Dave Cockrum's Nightcrawler).

I like the camera angle coming down on this one.  Difficult angle to draw (for me anyway).  Reminds me of Frenz's covers to the later MARVEL UNIVERSE HANDBOOKS like this one:

Slightly off topic, but who the heck is the Wolverine / Daredevil mash-up on that cover?!

Back on topic, a really nice commission. It's normally only the action shots that get a response of wishing we could see the whole story, but, for me, this one does exactly that too. There is something decidedly mournful about it. Really like it.

I wasn't reading Marvel comics very much after 1989. The whole "Crossover(s) Per Year" thing drove me off of the titles that I was reading back then, so I never did get to see who this "D-Man" character was. It was probably a good thing.

That being said, I like the choice of grouping in this commission. It makes me wonder what could've been done with a story where the (then-current) X-Men crossed paths with the Hulk. Alas.

For which thank Mark Gruenwald. His DC brain would not resist the chance to de-unique TWO characters at once, AND make it a wrestling story!
