To be honest Terry I wouldn't know. I've never seen the three volume
set. In storage, I have the whole of Xenozoic Tales in one volume. I
can't remember if it even had sketches. These aren't actually
sketches, but photocopies of pencils. They include issue 13, page 15;
the cover of issue 13 and the cover to issue 14. There's o e page that
has a couple of sketches and notes for the cover of issue 13.

This AE comes two inked covers on transparent pages of acetate,
with the next pages giving you nothing but the color. The covers are of
issues 13 & 14. The effect is really nice and was quite the treat when
flipping through it.
I hope IDW can do this for future editions.

thanks for the reply. It sounds like stuff that I haven't seen before. I look forward to getting the book. The acetate inks sounds like a cool addition.
Each volume of the 3 volume set had an introduction and a 10 page sketchbook that showed character designs and progressive sketches for some of the pages. If you can find cheap copies, they are a nice to have. However, it only collects up to issue 13. The single volume Xenozoic had new artwork in it, but no sketchbook. The Modern Masters book on Schultz has some more sketches and artwork from the series. It's a great volume in a great series of books.
again, thanks for the info.

I have the Modern Masters volume. Good stuff. This AE is amazing. I
can't tell you how good of a job they've done putting it together. I hope
you'll be as happy with yours as I am mine.

What I will buy is a giant artist's edition of JB's Omac, similar to the one customized by a JBF member whose name eludes me..

Chris Ryall had some very exciting Artist Edition tweets yesterday indeed.
Time to get a second job I guess! Hmm.. A bit late in the season to open a lemonade stand...

Yep, there will be a Nick Fury Agent Of S.H.I.E.L.D. AE as well as a
Nick Fury and Captain America one. Changes in the art size are
reason behind there being two.

Also, since they can't collect whole stories, a Watchmen Artifact
Edition.

Considering the trouble it could be getting full stories of some of the
DC works the Artifact Edition is a great idea.

Now, I need a Curt Swan Superman, a Wayne Boring Superman, A
Dick Sprang Batman, a Neal Adams Batman, a Neal Adams Grean
Lantern, A John Byrne Superman (The whole Man Of Steel would be
amazing) , a George Perez Teen Titans and a George Perez Wonder
Woman.
