I remember well Wonder Woman #126, with the headline "Diana, Princess of Themyscira, Struck Down" coming out the same month (August '97) that England's Princess Diana was indeed "struck down" in real life, an eerie and tragic coincidence. Re-reading Alan Davis' Excalibur run, I came across an interesting "prophecy". It seems that in issues 12-14, the team is transported to an alternate England where a Prince William marries a long-haired brunette "Katherine" (an analog of "our" Kitty Pryde). And he "predicted" this 24 years ago. Hats off to Mr. Davis. Does anyone have more strange or spooky "life imitates comics" occurrences?

from the FAQ; Several are already covered

Has JB's comicbook work occasionally appeared to predict future events?

••

Closer than "the same month". The issue shipped on Wednesday, Lady Di was killed on Saturday. Same week.

Not comics, but i have an eerie example...the band Dream Theater had an image of a heart on fire wrapped in barbed wire on their album Images And Words,a few years later they played a hometown gig in New York, the set consisted of their concept album `Metropolis Part 2-Scenes From A Memory`.They released this album as a triple live cd `Live Scenes From New York` part of the cover artwork was a riff on the aforementioned blazing heart...a big red apple on fire wrapped in barbed wire with the NY skyline in silhouette in the background, the Twin Towers a prominent feature,it was released on September 11th 2001 and almost immediately withdrawn.

Edited to add...I had ordered the release from a mail order company,as Cd`s/Dvd`s are usually released on a Monday in the U.K. mine was posted on the Tuesday and i recieved it on the Wednesday,it was very strange opening that package with receipt dated Sep 11th the day after the tragedy.

In an old Italian story Uncle Scrooge moved a giant Egiptian monument from its place cutting it in blocks. The same idea was used in real world to save the Abu Simbel monuments.
