Yes, Harley done right. Not a slut, but sexy.
Wolverine looks great, as if you have done him on more than one occasion! ;)
And great debris!

Sadly for Harley, Wolverine knows full well she is behind him. He heard and smelled her coming from a mile away. The next panel is decidedly not for our younger viewers…..•• Your comment reminds me of how times change. Back in my days on X-MEN, a scene like this would have played out with Logan suddenly whirling about, pinning Harley's arms, and planting a big wet one on her.* Today, he'd more likely spin and strike, disemboweling her with plenty of spewing eviscera. __________ * Prompting letters of complaint from some quarters about the "rape". That, at least, was the minority response to the similar scene between Hawkeye and Deathbird in AVENGERS.

Make war, not love, eh?
It reminds me of a line from "Victor/Victoria" - to paraphrase, "Kill her, but mustn't kiss her."
What the hell ever happened to FUN in comics? Even if a surprise kiss is a bit offensive... repainting the streets in arterial red is a little more so. Not to readers though, I surmise...

Beautiful work, as always, Chief.
Makes me wish I had the money for a Wolverine vs Joker commission... but I have to buy a new house out in Tacoma first so no such luck :-)
BTW - Did the Powers That Be over at DC and Marvel ever green light a Wolverine vs Joker crossover? Given the popularity of the characters, I would have thought it would be a no-brainer. But I may have missed it given all of the Army stuff I was doing back in the day...

Love the sense of whimsy with this piece. As many have said here, something that is lost in recent times with the industry. The sense of composition is what amazes me. From the positive and negative space in the background to Wolverine in the foreground. JB has created a sense that Wolverine is climbing right out of the page. Continues to blow me away. Another thing, and why I think JB owns the character, is Wolverine's mask. He captures it perfectly from every angle and gives it the 3D look the mask should have. Lastly, the sense of mass to the mallet that Harley is holding. The muscle tension that you can sense in her, as well as Wolverine. Great idea for a commission and superbly executed. Love it.

LOL! Believe me, Chief, when I say that after having lurked on the JBF for so long before actually becoming a member, I have long enjoyed your commissions and the dialogue that they generate.
Maybe once I get a new roof over my head out on the West Coast I can start saving my pennies for my own commission. Until then I have to keep following the mantra of "Happy Wife, Happy Life" :-)

Wandering, wondering. Wandering thru the commissions thread, wondering if so doing might inspire me to DRAW something. Instead, just made me sad again, being reminded that the current version of Harley looks NOTHING like a harlequin. sigh

True. But doesn't that make you want to show people how it should be done? (rhetorical)

Mr. Byrne, you do good science fiction comics (just read Fantastic Four #220-221 for the first time in years, and I love those aliens talking with Sue), so who cares about some support character being merchandised more aggressively lately... I say space is the place! I wish someone could adapt James H. Schmitz' Telzey Amerdon and Galactic web stories to comics. They used to run in Astounding/Analog alongside Heinlein, Asimov, George R.R. Martin etc..
