Regarding the Byrne commission - Love it.  I love the detail.  Johnny and Ben look as remarkable as ever.  I particularly like Reed.  His face is more reminiscent of the 80's run to me here.  Sue looks really young in the face. I love the joy in it.

Regarding the Kirby pin up - I do not remember Sue being SO busty in the earlier issues.  Guess I need to check that out.  And there is something wonky with her left hand.  It almost could be upside down.

John, when you need to draw a prop or a vehicle that had been originally drawn without a lot of thought about its function, do you find yourself trying to improve the design? I imagine that when you draw the consoles of the flying bathtub it's hard not to lay out the controls and screens so that they make more sense.

It's easy enough to say "Oh, well, I drew the 'Block III' Fantasticar, built after Reed did another round of fine-tuning to the control clusters..."

I've never drawn the Fantasticar the same way twice! (Neither did Jack!)

You know JB, I'm kinda surprised that even though you've drawn a
few commissions with the FF team and the Fantasticar, to my
knowledge, you've never done a recreation of the FANTASTIC FOUR
issue 3 cover.

As a rule I don't do recreations of the work of other artists. Occasional reimaginings, yes, but in the case of an iconic cover like that one, that would be pointless!!

In both of these recent FF commissions I'm struck by how perfectly Sue is falling out of JB's pen these days.

The REAL Fantastic Four—I love that image, but it makes me long for
more FF stories from you, JB.
