I have not felt so odd, with my thinking about Dinosaurs. Its like everything I have known is wrong: Brontosaurus, the sauropods lived in swamps, they all drug their tails, Coldblooded.
What is great, is that science is open for change when the information shows us more of the truth.

Giant lizards... flying dragons, there is an element of childish fantasy and wonder about them. But the idea that dinosaurs might have been gigantic versions of the creatures we see every day (birds) somehow makes them... scarier.

Once again, vindication!Back in third grade, our teacher showed us a picture of a preserved impression of dinosaur skin, and I was practically laughed out of the class when I said it looked like a plucked chicken!

A few years ago, JB did an illustration of how flesh was added to dinosaur skeletons using the skeletons of modern animals. The result was an array of creatures we would never recognize, even though they were familiar to us in their true forms.
I've often wondered what the result would be if the old "restoration process" was used on a human skeleton. It might come out something like this:

That's one heck of a case of Liefeld crotch on that little guy.

I first heard about the "dinosaurs likely had feathers" thing on this very site when JB mentioned it a while back.

It'd be cool to see some kind of dinosaur movie with the feathers.

That would be acurate but a feathered dinosaur seems less intimidating to me than a more reptile looking one.

When I first heard the feather theory, I immediately imagined a T-Rex looking like a huge, enraged Cockatoo! Heck, if they proved dinosaurs were pink, with purple polka dots, it would still be scary as hell to have one charging down on you, teeth bared!

Particularly if, as it now seems, they may have hunted in packs.
Or should that be flocks?

Or should that be flocks?•• An exaltation of larks, a drift of hogs, a murder of crows, a pod of whales… What WOULD be a good collective for dinosaurs? Probably have to do them by species. A thunder of Apatosaurs...
