Paul Kupperberg called this morning to tell me had come upon such a thing, online. In a discussion of Frank Robbins' work, defending same from some detractors, Jim Engle told the story of being at a party at my house, back in the Evanston days, when a similar discussion arose. According to Jim, when he professed his admiration for Robbins, which I endorsed, I disappeared for a few minutes, returning with a Robbins CAPTAIN AMERICA page, which I then gave to Jim.

Truth to tell, I have no memory of this! But, hey! I'll take it!

May have to spin this one into a bad story, I mean,
taking credit when you're unsure!

More likely one among many, blended together. Since I don't partake of any substances that alter my perceptions of my surroundings, I rarely lose track of what happened where, and when. But this time...!

Hmm, I wonder if anyone has been tempted to dose JB's lemonade. Or perhaps they already have!

Good Byrne stories are out there, but like most things positive they go unreported as the norm.

I have a couple good Byrne stories of my own, both publicly shared here.  Keep those servers running, Jeff!

Here is something that happened that is small but is significant to me. I remember entering a Next Men contest where fans could win a signed poster or a Next Men pin if they didn't win the grand prize. I was really surprised to find both sent to me. I was living with my dad and he was battling his demons at the time. Sadly he passed not much longer after that. To this day it means a lot to me to have something good, however small, from that time. Thanks John.

That's not very creative!! You need to spin it like, I handed the page to Jim in such a way that he got a really bad paper cut on his hand.

"JB cares so little for Frank Robbins' art, he just GIVES it away!"
