   My first exposure to Gene was through the pages of the mid-1970s Doctor Strange comic, and through Howard the Duck. There was something in the way he drew that made his work unique for the time. It's a shame that he got the boot around the time Jack Kirby did.

Yes, he did a great DR. STRANGE too and that's an awesome BLACK WIDOW page!

It can easily be argued that he was THE artist for--

DAREDEVIL
DR. STRANGE
HOWARD THE DUCK
DRACULA
BLACK WIDOW

--and I'm sure that he's at the top of the list for a lot of people on--

BATMAN
CAPTAIN AMERICA
IRON MAN

I recall he did something for Detective Comics in the 1980s that looked interesting when I saw it in the stands. If I wasn't such a Marvel/X-Men zombie back then, I'd have picked it up just to see what the artist who hooked me on HTD was doing there.
