No, in Canada, the Blackberry is still the number one option for corporate phones. However, that dominance is fading as more and more companies let people pick individual phones for corporate networks.

I guess I'm going what I was seeing in the workplace and in the general public. I had a good portion of friends and acquaintances that used Blackberry as their general, all around smartphone, all of whom have long since abandoned them. Good to hear there's still a core base, though.

My company stopped supporting Blackberry in favor of iPhones also. BBs make for better email devices, IMO, but let's face it, the writing is on the wall that BB is a sinking ship.

And don't get me wrong, I am not trying to defend or boost BB. They lost the US market, and they are loosing the Canadian market each day.
But remember...in their darkest days a few years ago, when everyone was trashing them for their plummeting sales in the USA, BB was busy signing up tens of millions of new users in Asia, Africa, and South America. The US economic news reporters just didn't think that was important.

ditto. I think I prefer my personal phone, a small Samsung Galaxy something-or-other.

-- Relatively speaking: it wasn't. Those users were purchasing low-cost BB7 phones, which did nothing to stave off BB's growing losses and actually made it more difficult for them to transition to BB10. US reporters covered the important part: a company which sat atop the corporate universe in communications stubbornly ignored the warning signs of new technology, which led to a disastrous freefall. In the wake of the rise of the app-based smartphone, adding users to an aging, low-profit platform was a blip on the news radar.
More power to them as they turn it around.

I am using the cheap (and value for money IMHO) Moto G. I believe it is for those who want a basic, yet, powerful phone without paying a lot for it. Been using it for 6 months and no plans to replace it in the near future. My last phone was an iPhone 4, and I don't miss using Apple in my Phone, in fact I regret spending a lot of money on my iPad. Should have bought something cheaper with Android.

Roy: ditto. I think I prefer my personal phone, a small Samsung Galaxy something-or-other. ======== That's telling Roy. Most people I know have had one technology or the other. You having had both, prefer the Samsung. Currently, I'm leaning that way.

I just wanted to thank everybody for there help on this matter. Yesterday, I went and got myself a Samsung Galaxy S5. So far, I'm liking it. There are things I like better about Apple's ios and there are things I like better about this one. Using my provider's installment plan, this was this best bang for the buck.
