I'm at the stage where I have to have an eye on my father many a time. He still acts like he could do things he did when he was 30. He also has a stubborn streak in him, like he fears how I'd react if I see him doing something awkward or dangerous.

I hope your dad does okay here. Strokes (and any brain injury) are nothing to take lightly.

Mom called this a.m.  She said he had a good night, but the the pain killer upset his stomach.  He is progressing that he is off 100% O2.  He is looking at getting out of ICU tomorrow. but still in the hospital.

The have removed the shunt this a.m.  He is being moved to a regular room.

Now comes the big changes at home, we are moving my folks from upstairs to downstairs.  mom has wanted to do this for a long time, dad has been resistant. I feeling like I am defying my father.

My dad spoke on the phone this a.m.  he had not done that since the surgery.  He sounded good, but his thinking is slow.

heal.

My dad just got home about 1900 local time.  He past all the cognitive and speech evaluations, and the physiotherapy can be done at our local Hospital.   Thanks for your thoughts and best wishes. We are well on the road to recovery.
